Resting in the east of Cambodia is the remote province of Kampong Cham. The capital of the same name, Kampong Cham has little to offer foreign tourists. Encompassing 16 districts, Kampong Cham province is home to the country's third largest city, the provincial capital of the same name. Here, more than 60,000 people run shoulders is a city that is bordered by the mighty Mekong river, the city's lifeline.
Accessible in less than three hours by road and boat from Phnom Penh (124kms/75 miles away), the province is an easily reached location that few foreigners bother checking out.
